The Island Apothecary is a part of Lemuria, a group of artists and writers living beyond the portal of the Soul Food Cafe.  The Soul Food Cafe is an international group whose goal is to promote writing and art creation as a daily practice.  This is accomplished through creative writing prompts and artistic inspiration provided on the Soul Food Cafe website and working collaboratively through blogging to post the members’ creative works.

 

The Island Apothecary is your location for a wide variety of herbal and other earthly knowledge.  If you have any knowledge of aromatherapy, herbal remedies, making your own bath and beauty products from natural ingredients, or other such related topics, please share them with us here.

 

The apothecary is run by the local pharmacist and green witch Bethany James.  Bethany spends hours gathering herbs from the mountain sides throughout the island and runs sessions making creative medicine bags.  A mistress of all trades, she also reads Tarot and runs the local film society, showing art films at the small retro theatre, The Way it Never Was.
